Hoops for Heart
Thank you to all who supported the Hoops for Heart fundraiser. Our school raised $5053.78 for the American Heart Association.
We’d like to thank everyone for their patience while the bulletin has been absent. We missed the January and February issue but will be back on track for April and May.
Monday was the first day of CRT State Testing for our 3rd through 8th grade students. The tests continue through the remainder of the week.
Even if your child is a good reader and writer, he may still have trouble when it comes to taking tests.
Preparing for tests, taking tests, and reviewing tests go hand in hand. Follow the tips below and your child will be on his way to test success.
Before the Test. Ask if your child’s school offers sample tests. They are a great way to practice for both standardized and regular classroom tests. Sample tests help children become familiar with directions and what the test will look like.
During the test. Your youngster should always read the material carefully before he begins. Directions are important. If you child doesn’t understand what to do, encourage him to ask the teacher to explain further.
After the test. Review the tests results with your child. Discuss what went right and wrong. For example, did he run out of time? Next time, he might try answering the easier ones first, such as multiple choice questions. (from Resources for Educators)
End of Quarter
3rd quarter ends on March 19th and report cards will be sent out shortly afterwards.
Just a reminder report cards will be held if there are any meal or library balances due. If your child does not bring a report card home on or after March 26th, please contact the school office.
Thank you to all who participated in our fundraiser! We earned just under $3000.00 for our school. You’ll see this money put to good use for field trips & student activities throughout this and next year.
We will announce the top sellers and prizes soon!
The orders will deliver to our school in approximately 4 weeks.
The Elysian Book Fair is the week of March 11th. Hours will be from 8:00-4:00 pm. Please stop by and pick out a book or two.
All proceeds directly benefit our school library.
