March-April News from the Principal

From the Principal’s Desk

With Spring peaking just around the corner we are looking to wrap up the 3rd quarter this month if you can believe it! During this time of year is when we start ramping up for our state testing, the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC). Our students, grades 3-8, will be testing throughout the month of April. This assessment is important to our students, school and community as it shows how we are doing compared to other districts not only in the state but across the nation in Mathematics and English Language Arts. Please help our students be as prepared as possible by making sure they are getting plenty of rest, proper nutrition and fluids!

Teachers will also be looking to schedule some Parent Teacher Conferences for the evenings of April 4-5. Times will be scheduled by elementary teachers during the time slots of 3:40-6:40 pm. Conferences for the spring are set-up on a “needs” basis, however, if you would like to schedule a conference please let your son or daughters teacher know that you’d like to meet. Middle School parents we will be conducting a similar format as in the Fall. All teachers will be available to talk with in the Commons during those scheduled times.
